Hellhound on my Trail is a work that considers an account of the wandering figure and its account in digital representation. The monstrously moving figure moves onward, pursued or pursuing. The hellhound, that chases and follows is both the figure and its need to move onward. This simultaneous protagonist and antagonist wanders through the ruins of a landscape that twist and blur in the ruin of the digital image itself. Monstrous twisting renders moments of unexpected visual beauty accompanied by a mixture of horrific digital audio and musical references. Robert Johnson's track "Hellhound on my Trail" lends the work its title and itinerant wandering theme, while burst of Romantic orchestral music tie the piece to its literary influences and ongoing Romantic questions of civilisation, ruin and its impact on us as individuals.
